2009 OCF Cultural Workshops Team

Alan Corbiere

Alan is the Executive Director of the OCF and a well respected researcher and historian of the Anishinaabek. He has some fluency in Ojibwe and extensive knowledge of the Anishinaabek culture and history. He has had the honor of recording many of our elders and transcribing their stories. Alan has presented his research on the Anishinaabek at educational and language conferences in Canada and internationally.

Falcon Migwans

Falcon is a lifelong practitioner of Anishnaabek traditions and follower of our teachings . Falcon believes our culture gives us strength and direction and is most happy to share what he has learned on his journey. Falcon especially enjoys working with the youth.

Patsy Panamick

Patsy is from the M’Chigeeng First Nation. Patsy has been involved with the OCF for a number of years as a traditional artisan working with birch bark, beads and leather creating beautiful dream catchers, medicine pouches , baskets, broaches, necklaces and earrings. Patsy is especially gifted with her beadwork technique which she learned from her late mother, noted traditional artisan, Theresa Panamick. 

Kate Roy

Kate is the Cultural Programs Coordinator at the OCF and is fluent in the Anishnaabemowin language. She is much in demand as a translator and has also worked extensively with teachers in the development of language materials for use in schools. Kate is a graduate of the Native Language Instructors Program at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.
